ALEX stands for the Alabama Learning Exchange and it is a website that is devoted entirely to teachers. It is ran by teachers and provides resources such as lesson plans, web links, and interactive activities. The website is very easy to navigate and is place for teachers new and old to share lesson plans and valuable resources. The website gives the user their own personal workspace where they can organize their favorite lesson plans, submit new lesson plans, and even edit current lesson plans.
After learning about this site it is fairly safe to say that I will be visiting Alex quite often. Having access to a lesson plan data base will not only be helpful to new teachers it will also be helpful to experienced teachers. Experienced teachers will be able to brush up on old lessons and see if there has been something new and interesting develop. Alex is a great teaching aid and I am sure I will visit the site numerous times throughout my teaching career.

About me!
My name is Brian Hewes and I am 22 years old. I recently changed my major from communication to education. I am very excited about being a teacher someday. Don't get me wrong when I say this because I do care about reforming education and molding young minds for the future. But half the reason I want to be a teacher is for summers off so I can play golf. Golf is more than just a hobby to me. It is my absolute favorite thing to do and something that I plan on pursuing proffessionally upon graduation. Other than the extreme obsession with golf I am a pretty normal guy who enjoys hanging out with his friends and his wonderful girlfriend. I look forward to sharing in this "Strange" class with all of you!
